Froch - "Coulrophobia"
Although I'm extremely happy with this entry, it was a bit of a settle. My original concept required a bit of a cast and crew to pull off, and although I'm confident I could have gotten the shot, I was not confident enough in myself to share my vision with the needed crew and cast members.
For this shot, I honed in on a detail of what the original concept would have had to show "Fear of Clowns". For this 'final' version, I did have to composite the nose in. The SP was a lighting test, which I really liked, and when I shot it the nosed 'dummy' was not in the frame. From my first entries this year (Glass), I've committed to developing a shot, rather than hunting or finding images that end up on my card that fit the theme. I've worked to come up with as creative a concept as I feel I can pull off, and have worked to develop a lighting scheme to support it, but mainly one that would set the images apart. In each, including this image, I've felt I've met my goal and have grown immensely as a photographer.
For this image, the lighting setup was a 43" brolli directly behind me with an SB600 at 1/16power. Above the camera and slightly CR was a 14" beauty dish with SB900 at 1/4power.
